Agentic Translation Pipeline for Radiology IT

A technical overview of the multi-agent workflow architecture.

System Objective & Scope

The objective of this system is to execute a high-fidelity translation of English Radiology IT documentation into Tamil. The architecture is designed to serve a key stakeholder group: Tamil-speaking Radiology IT technicians in India. The scope of the process includes ensuring technical accuracy, linguistic fluency, and cultural appropriateness while maintaining the integrity of the source document's Markdown formatting.

Workflow Architecture

The translation process is modeled as a sequential data pipeline of four distinct agentic nodes, each performing a specific transformation function. Select a node from the architectural diagram below to inspect its role, transformation logic, and I/O schema.

System Challenges & Future Work

Key Engineering Challenges

  • Maintaining terminological consistency across the knowledge domain.
  • Resolving lexical ambiguity via contextual disambiguation.
  • Addressing parallel corpora scarcity for the target technical domain.
  • Fine-tuning for cultural and professional register alignment.
  • Ensuring robust parsing and regeneration of Markdown data structures.

Future System Enhancements

  • Implement an active learning feedback loop for continuous improvement.
  • Execute domain adaptation via targeted model fine-tuning.
  • Develop API integration with standard Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
  • Automate generation of quantitative quality metrics in the critique node.
