Robert W. Pannick

A self-taught Systems Engineer who’s definitely taken the scenic route. The variant, sometimes chaotic nature of my experience gives me a strong appreciation for structure and syntax, whether it’s in the rules of language or the architecture of a software system. I do my best to bring a thoughtful, often wry perspective to the big questions surrounding technology and its impact on how we see ourselves. Having both observed and participated in the rise and (sometimes) fall of grand technological aspirations, I believe in a healthy dose of skepticism tempered with a genuine fascination for what’s possible. I’m always up for a conversation that digs beneath the surface, which is to say, I can be easily distracted by any thoughtful idea.

When I’m not wrestling with systems & code or pondering delightful notions while doing existential chores, I mostly enjoy spending time with my partner as we’re both pretty keen enthusiasts of life in general, and she’s kind of the best. Thank you Ann. For everything.
